Command & Data Handling

The simplest hardware option for command & data handling (CDH) that includes high performance and robustness is to utilize a field programmable gate array (FPGA).  Space Lab® is developing a radiation tolerant Perseus Processing Unit™, which includes a Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale+™ FPGA, application specific digital interfaces, and multigigabit SERDES lanes.  The Perseus can interface to other mixed signal modules for data storage, RF waveform generation, or other application specific interfaces.  Space Lab® also offers low-cost low-power CDH systems operating only from a complex programmable logic device (CPLD).
