Crew Accomodations

The crew requires tools and equipment to work productively and safely in space.  Since astronauts have started eating plants grown in space, research into crop sanitation is critical.  NASA awarded a 2018 Phase I SBIR to Space Lab® to investigate a produce sanitizer, Pro-WASH™, to disinfect plants prior to crew consumption allowing for fresh “pick-and-eat” produce.  Pro-WASH™ stands for Produce Wash and Aeration for Space Habitats.
